Jesus talks Hockey
with Minnie Satori
( short bouts of wisdom )
ms - Thank you Jesus , for coming and joining us ,
especially during Hockey’s off season .
jc - Minnie - it’s a pleasure to be in your building and
to sit where you’ve traveled so far and often . .
You’re a tribute to what we can experience on this plane .
ms - I’m blushing . . How did you fly in ?
jc - On Jet Blue - gave up on Jet Red .
ms - Funny . . Did you follow the Women’s World Cup ?
jc - In between naps . . but did stay awake to watch the
Brits beat the Bosch for the Bronze . . then wide awake
with the USA gals - blasting team Japan in the final .
ms - Just like old times - eh ?
jc - Except in Soccer - hugs - handshakes - low scores .
ms - But such a purity there - the girls are nearly paupers !
jc - They looked happy enough , plus the girls’ got skill !
ms - So how did you get into Hockey ?
jc - Saw primary colors on white ice . Skates a helluva
invention . . We know that man created Sport , and god
created Baseball . . but there’s a magic and excitement
that only Hockey delivers .
ms - How so ?
jc - The strong attention the game asks from the fan .
It teaches him to absorb its flows and patterns . . we gain
a high sense of what’s coming next . . and get this , gives
us full seconds to expect , then roar , in euphoria !
ms - Boy , you are a fan !
jc - But . . The roars come too few in the pros . . It’s as if
they don’t know . . that . . the goal of the game is goals .
ms - “The Goal of the Game is Goals” . . ah , those little
steps in daily life that lead to a place of very well being . .
I don’t know aboot you , but for me , it’s just tiny bursts of
enlightenment , then nirvana , then ego . . chills come one
after another . . ah , nothing moves my heart like the things
I’ll never know . . . Guess that’s why I’m named a Minnie !
jc - There you go , keep guessing ! . .
I once heard it said that . . Certainty never finds the net .
ms - May I quote you ?
jc - Of course , you won’t be the first or the last .
ms - Please talk aboot . . insight and inspiration ? . . .
I for one love when they happen .
jc - Yep me too . . like a bolt out of the blue . . standing
sparked under a lone tree . . a song whispering aboot .
ms - Poetic . . yeah , using the brain worms in your grasp
never grows old . It confirms you’re still ticking , and as
the idea and effort complete , and becomes something ,
it makes you feel good aboot you .
jc - There you really go ! . . everyone is proud when they
solve a new puzzle . . it is the way the truths come in Life .
Gave an insight to a kid in Brooklyn - one day in 1981 ,
and it became the eureka ! moment he’s still feeding off .
T’was aboot a new design to play goalie on a mechanical
hockey game . . well made for all ages . . . Kid ran with it .
After getting so damn bored with the lack of pro scoring ,
I threw the same guy the Metric Nets thought years ago .
Tho he may be a minor icon , the guy’s got no pull !
ms - Eh dere eh ? - t’was ? - tho ? - icon ? . . Jesus !
Ahem , sorry . . Aboot pro hockey and machine hockey ,
this man really knows the score ! . . Jesus - it’s a wrap ,
good chatting - thanks for your service and sacrifice , eh ?
jc - Who knew ? . . it really didn’t hit me until I was 30 . . .
All was sunset in an olive garden . . this is just a little past
my hillside gig with the Beatitudes , when . . .
: )
