Owner Update 2015
a) We recently upgraded the player setscrews to the
same size as the rod setscrews on all drive spring parts .
Now the larger (1/16”) ball driver is the only tool needed .
Larger set holds better and is easier to access and work .
b) Goalies take many hard knocks - and even the larger
sets loosen over time . Suggest putting a tiny touch of
superglue gel into dimple of goalie peg (blot excess with
tissue) then mount as usual .This gives the goalie a
long-lasting added insurance .The player sets hold well
and rarely need the superglue treatment . Repair stripped
threads in nylon bushings by first removing set and then
coating threads with superglue on toothpick . Dry 15 min .
Superglue gel repairs any loose grips or under bumpers .
c) Good Rules of Thumb : Tighten rod setscrews fully .
Tighten upper setscrews only to snug . Hold the player
or goalie peg deep in bushing while tightening .
d) New Deflector Shields now available from Parts Menu .
They clip onto the end glass - keep many pucks in play .
e) Red and Blue ultra fine Sharpies work well to touch up
your ice surface . Let dry 5-10 mins. to prevent smearing .
f) Before the guys arrive for a session - here’s my game
prep . (1) Lift game on its side to get access underneath
and check tightness of all 12 rod setscrews . Adjustment
to players is best from up top . (2) Wipe the top of base
table with wet cloth , then reset the game back on its legs .
Wet suction cups hold great . (3) Check and adjust rink
levels - then fully tighten side knobs - legs firm to stop pins
(4) Novus is good for cleaning the clear glass , the frame ,
the grips and any mess on the ice . We finish the ice with
spray furniture polish that foams for an ultra fast surface .
Spread evenly - let dry a few minutes - then buff well with
a dry Bounty towel - lasts all night - Pledge types are so so .
(5) Using a damp foam polish cloth - wipe pucks and rods .
g) Get out the scoresheets and timers - sharpen a pencil ,
put on a pot of coffee - and we’re ready for guests !
